As October comes to a close, here is a small Halloween treat for you. It is a quick painting I made from one of my Daily Doodle sketches. I liked experimenting with painting right on top of a heavy texture. Enjoy!
Here’s my latest batch of doodles. I’ve also put up a permanent page on my website here where you can view all my past doodles and purchase originals. Enjoy!
These are a couple new images I made for fun, and I’ve decided to use them for my Christmas card. I was going to wait until after I sent them before I shared these, but then I thought – what the heck! I’ll just show them now.
And if you’re thinking, “But it’s not even Halloween yet!” – to you I say, “Humbug!” We get in the holiday spirit early at my house. :)
Comments and critiques welcome.

Hey, everybody! The fabulous portfolio site Hire an Illustrator! just released a great promo featuring some of their artists, and I was fortunate enough to be included (I’m on page 8). There are lots of wonderful artists in there, so browse through it if you have a moment.
And if you missed it previously, I was interviewed by the site a few weeks ago as part of their Illustrator Spotlight. You can read it here.
And if you want to see my Hire an Illustrator! profile, it’s here.
A couple illustrations I made a few months ago have just been published in this month’s issue of Friend magazine.
If you have access to one, be sure to check them out!
Here are the illos:
Scary stuff coming from the pencil this week! I would go to draw something cute and cuddly and end up with a zombie or killer clown. Quite a departure from what I usually do. Oh how I love October.
All the original sketches are for sale in my store, along with past weeks’ doodles. Enjoy!
In my latest experiment, I recently opened up an account on a site called Zazzle, which allows you to order custom products featuring your own artwork. So far, I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with creating some simple, graphic characters for some t-shirts. Here is a little behind-the-scenes look into the making of this cute bat character.
Here’s what I’ve been drawing this week. Now that it’s October, I’m gearing for Halloween mode. Next week is going to be fun!
If you especially like a sketch, they are for sale in my store.
