I dont have a Modbook, but I did recently purchase a tablet PC (HP tx 2500), I'm trying to figure out how to set it up to maximize the power cost and the art programs (Photoshop and Manga Studio).

Finn - I would take a visit to either Axiotron's forums or Modbookart.com's forums. You are probably more likely to find answers to your questions there.

I'm a software developer and thinking of getting one of these. Has anyone had one for a while? How do they hold up? Is there anyway to make it stand up to be viewed and a display? Or am I looking a a 3rd party solution - like a plate stand or something. Is the Blue tooth, problem solved yet? A 'tooth keyboard and headset with mic is so obvious. I hope they sort that out quick. I suspect the screen rotation issue can be solved with a OS level hack. Has anyone heard or done such a thing?

Thanks so much for the review! I ordered one last week after my someone went shopping in my house back in February and made off with my PowerBook. What better reason to try something like this, eh? So, it gets warm... Well, I've been using a laptop stand due to poor eyesight, Maybe something like that would be of help? I plan to get the kit mid year that lets you use the ModBook with a wall-mounted swing arm.

Again, thanks so much for the review! I can hardly wait till the end of the month when it arrives and I can start drawing on it!

Dani, thank you so very much for writing this review for us. This is a something I may purchase in the near future. I assume Macromedia Flash MX, Flash 8 Pro and, Adobe Flash CS3 works on this as well. I'm an illustrator and Flash animator. So, I may buy this for portability and the ease of use. Also, I'd like to buy this sometime this year for Christmas, maybe. For now, I too am painting on Nintendo DS Lite using Colors DS. It's a great little program and a really good way to get into digital painting on a small budget. My one complaint about the Modbook is if only it were water resistant I could go to the beach and paint while underwater. "That reminds me of something I saw on TV many years ago about an artist who painted aquatic life while he was underwater with specially made paints." If only someone would develop a product similar to the Modbook but, water resistant. I'm sure the military has something like that.

Hi,
I've had a Toshiba Satellite R15 Tablet PC for several years. It costs $1500 and can be bought in big-box stores. It has a regular keyboard on the bottom and you draw on the screen using Photoshop, Alias Sketchbook or anything else and the monitor pivots and folds flat. You can also use a digital keyboard. It has been a bit buggy at times. You can Web surf on it and play DVDs. It's good to know there's some Mac technology out there you can use with a tablet but it's certainly been around in Windows for quite a while.

Wow! Now I want one. I've had the Cintiq on my wish list this year but I think I'd choose the Modbook over it. The less I have to carry around the better. Thanks so much for the informative post Dani!!
