Mark - Files will open into whatever screen mode you happen to have Photoshop in before you opened it. So, if you want the file to open in standard mode, just make sure that Photoshop is in standard mode before you open the file. As far as I know, you can't have multiple files open in different screen modes.

Cool site!

Question - about pressing the "F" key to cycle between the screen modes, do you know if you are able to change the default setting? mine opens to black (hate it) and would rather it open to a standard window as in CS2 . Also I notice that once this is set all windows follow this setting where as with CS2 you could have a window open at full screen and then open another window and the default of standard window witch was nice as it would not cover the window in the background.

Thanks,
Mark

Peter - push the "F" key on your keyboard or click the buttons in your tool palette (near the bottom, underneath the foreground/background color swatches).

Hi,

I had a little trouble with using full screen mode[ with a default of black] . I could not get out of this mode at all except to quit. How does one switch back when there are few menus on the top toil lbar and seemingly no commands?

k.sef,

I remember having this problem myself, but I never really explored the issue. My trial for CS3 has expired so I can't do any more experimentation myself, but I did do a little research into the Adobe Labs forums, and they seem to have a workaround.

Apparently this is a known bug that will most likely be resolved before the full version comes out. Until then, you can run CS3 in Rosetta mode on Intel Macs and this will supposedly fix the problem. Find the CS3 application on your Mac, Get Info, and click the box marked "Open using Rosetta."

This seems to defeat purpose of having a Universal application, but some users have reported that CS3 under Rosetta is still faster than CS2. Hope this helps. :)
